The Town of James Island recently approved funding for Jumpstart James Island, a program providing low-interest working capital loans thru a partnership with the Charleston Local Development Corporation (LDC), helping small businesses that have been negatively affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. Berkeley – Charleston – Dorchester Council of Governments (BCDCOG): The BCDCOG CARES Revolving Loan Fund, through the EDA, is offering award flexibilities in response to the impact of COVID-19 and the need to provide credit quickly and efficiently. Lowcountry Local First has partnered with local-independent telecom company, Home Telecom, to launch a Small Business Relief Grants program to aid business owners who’ve faced adverse impacts from the COVID-19 pandemic. Locally-owned and independent businesses headquartered within the Tri-County region can apply for grants of $1,000 or $2,000 to use at their discretion towards business operations. All grants are non-repayable and will require no formal reporting. Applications are now available via the Lowcountry Local First website.
