CASE #: BZAS-3-18-015 Special Exception request for the placement of a full-service carwash in the Community Commercial (CC) District and the Folly Road Corridor Overlay (FRC-O) District on property located at 765 Folly Road (TMS# 425-03-00-037) and 761 Folly Road (TMS # 425-03-00-038) – Town of James Island.
CASE #: BZAV-3-18-014 Variance request for pavement encroachment of more than 25% of the canopy of a grand tree for a carwash in the Community Commercial (CC) District and the Folly Road Corridor Overlay (FRC-O) District on property located at 765 Folly Road – Town of James Island (TMS #425-03-00-037).
Amendments to Zoning and Land Development Regulations (ZLDR)
The James Island Town Council will hold a Public Hearing and First Reading on Ordinance # 2018-02 to amend the Town’s Zoning and Land Use Development Regulations (ZLDR): §153.210 Home Occupations (4) Animal Care or Boarding (adding clause to allow emergency treatment in home); §153.110 Use Table (remove Special Exception requirement from Veterinary Services in RSL (Residential Low-Density) District to disallow use)); §Section 153.041, 042, and 043 General (edit voting requirements to majority of members present and voting); §153.110 Use Table (add conditional requirements to allow Stables in RSL District with a minimum lot size); and §153.110 Use Table (add conditional requirements to allow Food Sales in OG (Office General) with a maximum floor area).
These proposed amendments were approved by the Planning Commission at its March 8 meeting. The Public Hearing will be held on Thursday, April 19, 2018 at 7:00 p.m. at Town Hall, 1238-B Camp Road, James Island, SC 29412 (843) 795-4141. Copies of the proposed Ordinances are available for public review Monday through Friday during normal business hours.
