Notice of Planning Commission Meeting 

The James Island Planning Commission will meet on Thursday, February 10 @ 6:35 p.m. in person at the Town Hall, 1122 Dills Bluff Road. This meeting will also be live-streamed on the Town's You-Tube Channel (see link on meeting agenda). The meeting packet is attached with agenda of items for discussion. Lighthouse Point Ribbon Cutting for Sidewalk

The Town of James Island celebrated the opening of the Lighthouse Point sidewalk on Wednesday, February 2nd with a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony. The sidewalk will provide connection from Fort Johnson Road to Brigantine Drive and is approximately 1000 feet long.

The sidewalk is a key connection for residents who live around the Lighthouse Point neighborhood as a safe and accessible route. This project was funded by the Town of James Island and Charleston County's Half Cent Sales Tax. The contractor for the project was Allston Farrell Construction. The Town wishes to thank New Beginnings Church and the James Island Youth Soccer Club for their support with the needed easements to complete the project.

The following case will be heard by the Town of James Island's Board of Zoning Appeals at their regularly scheduled meeting on Tuesday, February 15, 2022 at 7:00 p.m. at the Town Hall, 1122 Dills Bluff Rd. James Island, SC  29412, and via Zoom (Zoom link will be available on the meeting agenda). This hearing is open to the public. Inquiries should be directed to the Zoning/Planning Department (843) 795-4141) referencing the case number. Please email comments to; emailed comments should be received by 12:00 noon on Tuesday, February 15. The full meeting packet will be available on the Town's website at and at the Town Hall during regular business hours before the hearing.
