NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING 

 

The James Island Town Council will hold two Public Hearings:  (1) A proposed zoning map amendment (re-zoning), specifically on property located at 1622 Camp Road from the General Office (OG) District to the Community Commercial (CC) District for Beverage or Related Products Manufacturing and Retail Sales and Service uses; and (2) Proposed amendments to the Zoning and Land Development Regulations (ZLDR) and the Livability Ordinance including provisions to allow for apiculture (beekeeping) on single-family residential property.

The Public Hearings will be held on Thursday, November 18, 2021 at 7:00pm at Town Hall, 1122 Dills Bluff Road, James Island, SC (843) 795-4141. Emailed comments to kcrane@jamesislandsc.us should be received by noon on Thursday, November 18th.The meeting will also be livestreamed to the Town’s YouTube channel. Copies of the proposed zoning map amendment and ZLDR amendments are available for the public to review Monday-Friday during normal business hours.

Tuesday, November 2 @ 6 p.m. the James Island History Council, will meet at the James Island Arts & Cultural Center, 1248 Camp Rd. Agenda

Thursday, November 4 @ 5 p.m. the Town of James Island Public Works Expo @ the James Island Town Hall (1122 Dills Bluff Rd): Engineers and field personnel from the Town of James Island, Charleston County, City of Charleston, James Island PSD, Charleston Water Systems, SC Chapter of the American Public Works Association, Ashley Cooper Stormwater Education Consortium, and other organizations will be available to display equipment used in the field and answer questions about water quality around James Island. This will be a chance to ask the professionals about careers in Public Works and find what Public Works takes care of on James Island. You will also be able to find out about measures on how to keep our stormwater runoff clean and pollution out of our creeks and marshes. Learn about the JI Creek Water Quality Taskforce initiative of cleaning up James Island Creek.

Thursday, November 4, 5-7 p.m.

Town Hall Parking Lot

 

Come join us for an evening with your Public Works professionals. We'll have engineers and field personnel from the Town of James Island, Charleston County, City of Charleston, James Island Public Service District, Charleston Water Systems, South Carolina Chapter of the American Public Works Association, Ashley Cooper Stormwater Education Consortium, and other organizations here to display equipment used in the field and answer questions about water quality around James Island.
