SCDNR Marine Open House Cancelled 

CHARLESTON COUNTY, S.C. (Oct. 18, 2019) — Due to the risk of high winds and severe weather stemming from a large tropical system, SCDNR staff have made the difficult decision to cancel the Open House event scheduled at our Charleston campus for tomorrow, October 19.

Thank you for your understanding. If the event is rescheduled, information will be shared via SCDNR social media channels.

James Island Pride --- Helping Hands Service Date Change 

Attention  Helping Hands Volunteers! 


The Helping Hands service date scheduled for Saturday, October 19 has been CANCELLED and rescheduled for Saturday, October 26. Please plan to meet at the Town Hall, 1122 Dills Bluff Road, James Island, at 9:00 a.m.  Thank you in advance for your service to our community. Save the Date for Community Shred Event 


A Community Shred Event  will be sponsored by the Town of James Island on Friday, November 1, 2019 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in the parking lot at Town Hall, 1122 Dills Bluff Road, James Island.

Attendees are asked to remain in their cars upon arrival. Shredding is limited to three (3) boxes (copy paper size or smaller) or three (3) bags (kitchen trash bag or smaller) There is no need to remove binders, binder clips, paper clips, rubber bands, CD/DVDs can also be shredded. Please tell your friends and neighbors. 

The Town of James Island is pleased to sponsor this event with Shred-it, a Stericycle solution.
