Reminder that the Town of James Island regulates the discharging of fireworks, and they are allowed only between the hours of 9 am and 11 pm, even on July the 4th. The only exception is for New Years Eve. Please be respectful of your neighbors this holiday weekend!

Ft. Johnson and Secessionville Intersection
We want your feedback! Charleston County Public Works has launched an online public meeting to show the recommended alternative for the intersection improvements project at Fort Johnson and Secessionville Road on James Island. Citizens will be able to provide comments to help shape the future of the project. The primary goal is to increase safety and improve traffic.

Lowcountry Site Work will have Yorktown Road at Camp Road closed Tuesday and Wednesday, June 30 and July 1, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. for utility work. This work must be completed before school begins and is part of the Camp Road Middle School drainage system. Fire, EMS and law enforcement have been notified and all applicable permits obtained. The road will be partially closed Tuesday night for the installation of a valve. The road will be open for the 4th of July weekend.
