Traffic Alert: Nighttime Lane Closures for the Resurfacing of Harbor View Road
Charleston County Government announces nighttime lane closures starting on Sunday night, April 30. Crews will begin resurfacing Harbor View Road from Folly Road to the Dr. Julian Thomas Buxton, Jr. Bridge. All work is weather permitting and drivers are asked to be aware of workers in the construction area.

NOTE: This resurfacing is separate from the Harbor View Road Improvements Project

April 30 – May 13

  • Nighttime lanes closure will occur Sunday – Thursday from 8:00 p.m. – 6: 00 a.m.

May 14 – May 27

  • Daytime work will consist of paving driveways and no lanes will be closed.

Town of James Island Offers Free Shredding

Town of James Island and Shred 360

Hosts Shred Day, Monday, May 22

 

The Town of James Island will once again offer free shredding to the public. This event will be  held on Monday, May 22 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Shredding will be provided by SHRED 360 in the parking lot at the Town Hall, 1238-B Camp Road, James Island.

All Attendees are asked to remain in their cars upon arrival to the event. This will help everyone to enjoy the "Free Paper Shredding Event". In an effort to shred sensitive documents in a timely manner, attendees are limited to offload three (3) boxes (copy paper box or smaller) or three bags (kitchen trash bag or smaller) per vehicle at a time. There is no need to remove binders, binder clips, paper clips, staples, rubber bands, or CDs/DVDs prior to shredding.
