Update on Hurricane Matthew Debris Removal 10/20

Thank you to our residents for their continued patience on the storm debris removal process. We have been in constant contact with Charleston County who is managing the debris removal contracts for the area municipalities.

Unfortunately there is currently a shortfall in current resources because of the high demand for subcontractors in the 7 states that have been affected. The County as well as the municipalities and PSD's are all supplementing those resources, and hopeful this is a short-term situation.

The Town has asked for priority areas including main artery roads such as Ft. Johnson to be taken care of as soon as possible for safety and traffic concerns.

Attached is a link to Charleston County's updated schedule from today, as well as important information on debris placement. Please note different trucks pick up different types of debris, and many factors are weighed in such as low hanging limbs and other operating conditions.
