Mill Point Park opened to the public in April 2025. It is located at 1259 Mill Point Road off of Sea Aire Drive. Greenbelt funding helped make the purchase of the park possible. Mill Point Park consists of 6.6 acres with 4.3 acres of highland and beautiful marshland views. The park includes an existing historical structure built by the South Carolina Agricultural Society for farmer-funded experiments initially to fight the boll weevil which was decimating the Sea Island Cotton Crop at the turn of the century. It was eventually used to store and exchange bulbs and seeds. The building became a private residence in the 1950's and was used as a guest house in more recent times. There is a viewing platform overlooking the marsh, and several quiet benches and passive park amenities.
