Art and Community Center

Art and Community Building renderingThe Town of James Island is in the process of constructing an Art and Community Center at 1129 Hillman Street by Town Hall.  The Center will be about 10,000 square feet and will provide space for community and arts programming activities for all age ranges.  The estimated probable cost of the project is over $3 million, and the Town has dedicated this amount from its Hospitality Tax funding.

The Town has also launched a sponsorship program for those who would like to help support the James Island Community Center.  The mission of the James Island Community Center is to provide a welcoming, multi-use space that supports community gatherings, arts, education and recreation for residents of all ages, enhancing the quality of life and fostering a strong sense of community.
