Calling all oyster lovers and local history buffs. On Saturday, January 31, from 5:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., the Fort Johnson Community Foundation and Fort Johnson Estates Civic Club (400 Trapier Drive) will be sponsoring its annual oyster roast. At 5:30 p.m. there will be a short educational talk by author and Citadel History Professor, David Preston, PhD. Local officials, including Bill Woolsey, Mayor of the Town of James island will also be present if anyone would like a chance to talk with their leaders.
