Bullet Hole Found at Payne Church

A bullet hole was found on the front door of Payne Church on Camp Road early Sunday morning on September 13. I attended worship services with the congregation while Charleston County Sheriffs Deputies investigated the church building. The gun shot was most likely fired late Saturday night or very early Sunday morning. No one was at the church at the time.

Pastor Junious and the congregation did the right thing to hold their worship service.

But this terrorism must stop.

Please keep an eye out and help protect the churches of our Island. If you hear a gunshot, call 911.

If you have any information about who is committing these hateful crimes, please call crime stoppers at 544-1111 or you may leave an anonymous tip online at 411tip.

Please help protect the churches of James Island.
