James Island mayor, councilman to cut ribbon at Three Monkeys Ice Cream Parlour grand opening
James Island Mayor Brook Lyon, Councilman Lewis Dodson, and Councilman Troy Mullinax will join owners Stephanie and John Teevan for a ribbon-cutting ceremony Saturday, Aug. 1, at noon to celebrate the grand opening of Three Monkeys Ice Cream Parlour, 915 Folly Road, Unit P.
The Teevans, who are raising their three daughters on James Island, opened the shop to provide families with a welcoming place to mark occasions both big and small. Three Monkeys serves premium ice cream and coffee and is open six days a week.
"Our vision is a simple one: to create a neighborhood gathering place where friends, families and neighbors come together over ice cream, coffee and connections," Stephanie Teevan said. "We want Three Monkeys to be the place where lasting memories are made and life’s everyday moments are celebrated."
Lyon said the new shop reflects the character of the James Island business community.
“Three Monkeys is a wonderful example of a locally owned business built around family and community,” Lyon said. “We’re pleased to celebrate its opening and wish the Teevan family every success.”
