Join us on Sunday, November 7, 2021 at Fort Johnson from 1-3 p.m. The Town of James Island will be honoring the memory of those patriots who defied British law to oppose the 1765 Stamp Act. The Act, imposed as of November 1, 1765, required almost all written or printed documents from books to playing cards, newspapers to deeds, diplomas to bail bonds to carry a revenue stamp. On March 18, 1776 the Stamp Act was repealed by the British Parliament.
