Rescheduled Public Input Meeting for James Island family park

The Town of James Island is inviting residents to share their ideas for a new family park at a special public input meeting on Tuesday, February 25, 2025 at 7 p.m. in the Town Hall Council Chamber, 1122 Dills Bluff Road.  This meeting has been rescheduled from January due to weather.

The new park will sit on six acres of waterfront property at 1259 Mill Point Road, which the town purchased last year with a combination of Charleston County greenbelt and hospitality funds. At the meeting, neighbors and residents will have an opportunity to help shape the new park before any specific plans are made.

"Thanks to the greenbelt program, we've been able to preserve and protect this beautiful, undeveloped greenspace for our residents," Mayor Brook Lyon said. "Now, our goal is to work with residents to create a family park our citizens will enjoy for generations to come."
