As of May 1, 2026, NEW building permits and inspections will be handled by the Town of James Island through SAFEbuilt. All projects in progress will continue with Charleston County Building Services.

Town Hall Closed for Independence Day

The Town of James Island will be closed to observe Independence Day on Monday, July 5. The office will reopen on Tuesday, July 6 at 9:00 a.m.
