Town of James Island Tropical Storm Debby Update 6
As the remnants of Tropical Storm Debby move out of the Charleston area, the Town of James Island remains aligned with Charleston County at OPCON ONE, with plans to step down to OPCON THREE later today.
Town Hall will reopen for regular business at 9 a.m. tomorrow. Town Council will then meet at 11 a.m. in chambers to formally end the state of emergency.
"I'd like to personally thank our residents, staff, County emergency officials and regional partners for everything they've done throughout this event," Mayor Brook Lyon said. "From emergency operations to sandbag distribution to clearing debris and more, I've gotten to see Charleston County and Team James Island at their very best and I couldn't be prouder of our community."
Reporting damage: Charleston County is asking citizens to report structure damage/debris at this link: https://survey123.arcgis.com/share/707223c0560f4998ad07f0ee966d3121. These reports will support Charleston County’s eligibility to request federal assistance based on the number and severity of damaged structures.
