Update from James Island Neighborhood Council

The James Island Neighborhood Council Committee will meet on Thursday, August 24 at 7:00 p.m. This meeting will be held at the Town Hall, 1238-B Camp Road, James Island, SC 29412.

If you think hard about how little above sea level James Island is with creeks all around… do you also think about the issues of sea level rise and storm surge. Mr. Ron Morales, NOAA Warning Coordination Meteorologist National Weather Service, Charleston SC will speak about this Thursday, August 24, between 7-8 pm at the Town of James Island, Neighborhood Council Meeting. This will be at Town Hall (near the James Island Library and Smokey Oaks). The public is invited to attend.

The Island Sheriffs Patrol August Report of Crime on James Island will be presented by Sgt. Shawn James at the same meeting.

Did you notice the little puffs of Smoke coming from the Manhole covers/ Sewer System during recent testing to find blockages and leaks. Well smoke would also come from the vent pipes of your house. Most subdivision Homes have at least 3 vent pipes through the roof which did look somewhat strange when they started "smoking" indicating that that they were open and functioning properly.
