Town of James Island Prepares for Winter Storm

Town of James Island officials are in close communication with Charleston County Emergency Management and SCDOT in preparation for this weekend’s expected winter weather.

Residents are encouraged to finalize their preparations today in anticipation of unusually cold temperatures and up to three inches of snow beginning Saturday and continuing into Sunday, according to the latest National Weather Service forecast.

Motorists are advised to limit unnecessary travel once the winter storm arrives.

“Now is the time to check on neighbors, bring in pets and make any other necessary preparations, including last-minute trips to the grocery and drug store,” Mayor Brook Lyon said. “And as conditions continue to develop, please monitor local media for the latest news and updates.”
