The Evacuation Order has been lifted However, please understand many homes are still without power and roads are hazardous due to trees down. Please check here for a list of road closures: https://gis.charleston-sc.gov/road-closures-regional/map/map.html?emergency=true
Be patient with power restoration as crews are working around the clock. Please remember to call 1-888-333-4465 to report outages, downed or sparking power lines. Don't assume they know you're without power or a line is down.
Tree permits for work on trees damaged by Hurricane Dorian have been suspended until further notice.
Damage Assessment Teams from Town Hall and Charleston County are deployed and working today. Residents are also urged to report damages online at https://www.crisistrack.com/public/charlestonSC/citizenRequest.html
The Debris Removal Contracts with Charleston County have been activated to assist with the clean-up efforts. Please see the following link from the JIPSD on how to separate post storm debris - https://www.jipsd.org/wp-content/uploads/Pre-Post-Storm-Info-for-Website.pdf
The Town of James Island remains at OPCON 1 as we work through recovery.
