
The Town of James Island remains at OPCON 2 and plans to return to OPCON 3 status beginning Monday, Sept 9th at 8 am.
Only approximately 1,100 customers remain without power today on James Island, and crews are working hard and expect County-wide for the system to restored by 11 pm on Sunday. Please remember to call 1-888-333-4465 to report outages, downed or sparking power lines. Don't assume they know you're without power or a line is down.
Charleston County has activated its Debris Removal Contracts for storm debris and that will be begin on Tuesday, Sept 10th. Please make sure to separate yard debris from household debris and remember – this is NOT the time to clean out the attic or garage!
Normal solid waste services will resume its normal schedule on Monday, Sept. 9th. Recycling will also resume its normal schedule, and for James Island that will be on Monday, Sept. 16th.
Tree permits for work on trees damaged by Hurricane Dorian have been suspended until further notice.
Damage Assessments teams have been out over the weekend. Residents are also urged to report damages online at https://www.crisistrack.com/public/charlestonSC/citizenRequest.html
