The Town of James Island adopted regulations in January of 2019 on single-use plastics, and those regulations go into effect on January 1, 2020. The regulations are identical to the regulations in the City of Charleston to make the transition smoother for our business community.
The City is hosting upcoming workshops next week, which will include vendors showcasing environmentally-friendly alternatives. Visit www.charleston.sc.gov/plastic for more details and to RSVP. Workshops are free but space is limited.
