James Island PSD Fire, Solid Waste Services, and Wastewater Services have cleared all major roads on James Island with the following exceptions: 1 Central Park Road which is down to a single lane near the creek due to broken pavement and 2 Dills Bluff Road which is completely blocked due to a downed tree entangled with power lines.

There will be a curfew in the Town of James Island from midnight tonight until 6 AM, Saturday, October 8. This is consistent with the curfew in the unincorporated areas of James Island and also in the City of Charleston. Charleston County and State law enforcement are authorized to enforce the curfew.
Emergency transportation as of Noon today, Oct 7th has stopped and shelters remain open. Town officials have spoken with County EMD Officials and reports of looting and vandalism are false and James Island as well as other parts of the County are being heavily patrolled.
