During the presentation there will be discussion of the Charleston County Consolidated 9-1-1 Center's history, consolidation partners, some basic numbers, employment & training, accreditation, calls processing, how you can be prepared to call 9-1-1; 9-1-1 challenges, Smart911, Citizen Alert Notification System and Text to 9-1-1.
Smart911 is a new service that will help you when you call 9-1-1. Once you've signed up, 9-1-1 call takers will be provided important information that will help them to address your emergency. This information, including photos, medical issues and current location can help Police, Fire, and EMS locate and help you.
Citizen Alert Notification System is a powerful tool that allows Charleston County to quickly send mass notifications that keeps everyone informed before, during, and after any emergency incidents.
This presentation will be held at the Town of James Island Town Hall, 1238-B Camp Road, at 7:00 p.m. on May 28th.
