Repairs to the broken water transmission line on Fort Johnson and Jeffords near Folly are extensive and likely to be complicated by expected rain. It is likely Ft. Johnson will be closed for at least several more days while all repairs are completed. Charleston Water System will have a mobile board placed on Ft. Johnson directing traffic turn on Secessionville. Due to the extensive damage from the water transmission line break, it will likely be several more days before repairs are completed and roads are repaved. We will pass along any updated information as soon as it is received. Please continue to avoid the area of Fort Johnson and Jeffords (near Folly Road).
Please avoid the area of Ft. Johnson and Jeffords as road is closed due to sinkhole caused by water main break. More information will be forthcoming as updates are received. Ft. Johnson Road will remain closed until further notice
Service personnel were able to reroute the water so no one should be without water. If anyone does not have service please contact Charleston Water Systems at 843- 727-6800.
Waterline break at Fort Johnson and Folly Road. Service entities have been called and are working to restore the break. Please avoid this area until passage is clear to do so. Water will be cutoff as well for many residents as they repair. Please watch for updates.
